DIGEST Colon Cancer Screening Program
Colon cancer is among the most common cancers in Saudi Arabia and among the most preventable: removing a polyp before it changes prevents the cancer. The DIGEST program combines your risk assessment, the right test for you (FIT stool test or colonoscopy), polyp removal in the same session and a clear surveillance schedule, all in one place under consultant care.

Frequently asked questions
When should I start?
At 45 for everyone, and earlier with a family history: 10 years before the relative's age at diagnosis or at 40, whichever is earlier.
Stool test or colonoscopy?
The FIT test suits average risk and is repeated yearly; any positive result needs a colonoscopy. Colonoscopy is the most accurate and removes polyps at the same time.
How often is colonoscopy repeated?
Depending on the result: 10 years if normal, sooner with polyps or a family history.
